The FFA is a national organization of, by, and for students studying vocational agriculture in public secondary schools. It is an educational, non-political, non-profit, farm youth organization of voluntary membership designed to develop agricultural leadership, character, thrift, scholarship, cooperation, citizenship, and patriotism. Its members learn through participation how to conduct and take part in public meetings, to speak in public, and to assume civic responsibility. Use of the Vo-Ag pickup and/or trailer to purchase livestock for projects:
Parent and/or students must pay expenses for the use of the Vocational Agriculture pickup or trailer to purchase livestock for projects. These costs are applicable with or without students and/or parents making the trip. There are two options for payment of expenses: You may pay for gasoline used and the Vo-Ag teacher's expenses, or you may pay a rate of $0.25 per mile round trip and the teacher's expenses. If more than one student is involved in purchasing animals, the cost of the trip will be prorated among these students.
