Student Handbook 2007-2008

TARDINESS
Tardiness, except in unusual and unavoidable circumstances, is improper in both business and social affairs. Promptness is encouraged in all human activities. It distracts the teacher, other students, and causes time lost from the class.
Continual tardiness is a habit, and reflects upon a person's character.
Students who are late to school or class will report to the office for a tardy slip as they would if they were absent.
To be on time the students must be in the classroom when the bell rings. When a student has been detained by a teacher, he will be given a admit slip entitling him to report to the class without reporting to the office.
Students who are habitually tardy may be required to come in at 8:00 or eat lunch in the cafeteria. If tardies continue to be a problem additional consequences may result, (ISS, etc,).
2 tardies will be considered a ½ day absence.
If a student has repeated or unjustified tardies, a letter will be sent home to inform the parents of the situation. (Send any pupil that is tardy first period or sixth period to the office for a tardy slip. Other unexcused tardies should be recorded on classroll.com and the student should not be sent to the office.
